Once upon a time there was a place called Great Britain. In Great Britain there 

were colonists and an unruly king who's name was King George III. One day 

King George took all the rights from the colonists and made them pay 

taxes...With sugar! So here's our story...

My name is Jack, Jack Applesmith. There was also a place called the ' New 

World ' also known as 'America' today! There were thirteen colonies in the 

New World and the king was making them pay taxes to!   The king has been 

very mean and all he does is order us around!

We are going to tell why the king is mean. He won't pass any laws that help us! 

All he does is think "Well I need money so I'll make the colonists pay 

with...Sugar! Perfect idea!" All he cares about is money! I know he needs 

money to pay for the debt from the French and Indian War but that's another 

story for another time. BUT this whole I need money make them pay with 

sugar nonsense was later called the 'Sugar Act'. I don't know about 

everyone else but to me the act was unfair and stupid.

When we complain to the king, he just becomes meaner. He shouldn't be our 

king. The Battle of Bunker Hill weakened the ties between the colonies and 

Britain because it showed the strength of the colonial army and The Siege of 

Boston because it proved that the colonial army could defeat the British. As I 

said... This is another story for another time!
