Peek-A-Boo the Mouse
There was a wee gray mouse who lived in a
big house full of places he could hide. When
opportunities came about he would make
people shout and that made his day.In this big
and wonderful house lived a family of eight.
Momma,Daddy,Jeremy,Kathleen,Lex the cat
and Bear the dog.Nanna and Papa lived there
as well.

The house was filled with so much love and
of course a wee mouse named Peek-A-Boo.
The house was never quiet. Peek-A-Boo would
keep everyone on their toes. No matter where
everyone went there was always a chance
Peek-A-Boo would appear unexpectedly.
Momma would do the laundry and Peek-A-Boo
would appear in the basket of clothes.

Peek-A-Boo did not always realize how
much he frightened everyone. All he wanted to
do was have fun and make people laugh.
Instead of laughing out loud people would
shriek rather loudly waving their arms in the
air. Sometimes they would run away. Other
times they would jump high up on a chair.
Peek-A-Boo could not help doing what he does
naturally as a wee mouse in a large house.

If only everyone could be friends with
Peek-A-Boo. Daddy would sit on the big red
couch watching his favorite show on television.
Everything would be perfect and then all of a
sudden out of the blue slithered Peek-A-Boo.
He went along the wall and under the couch.
Daddy could feel his feet being tickled. As he
looked at his feet there was Peek-A-Boo.
Daddy squealed words of surprise.

Peek-A-Boo disappeared quickly to his safe
place. When daddy would scream the house
felt like it was shaking. He had quite a large
and very loud voice. The children were
different. Curiosity was always in their minds.
They felt that they were invincible when it
came to little animals that creep out from
anywhere when you least expect them. Almost
every time Jeremy and Kathleen would be
frightened by Peek-A-Boo's appearance.

It never failed that Peek-A-Boo would
shock their world no matter what. You would
think that Peek-A-Boo could be captured and
placed in a cage. He could be kept as a family
pet. Lex the cat thought differently. It was a
cat's nature to catch any mouse but Peek-A-
Boo made that rule different. The moment Lex
would rest in his comfortable bed Peek-A-Boo
would creep up close and let out a squeak. Lex
would jump a foot high every time.

One day Lex will capture that Peek-A-Boo
and use him for his own personal play toy.
Until then Peek-A-Boo would successfully scare
Lex. Now Bear the dog was a big, strong and
strapping pet of the house. He was the
protector of everyone. Unfortunately Peek-A-
Boo held the title of 'head of the household'.
Bear seemed to be unafraid of anything but
this was not so.

Peek-A-Boo would creep up behind Bear
and nibble on his furry tail. The yelp from Bear
was ear piercing. Everyone would come
running to the rescue. Bear would be hugged,
patted and reassured that everything would be
alright. Soon everyone was back to normal.
Nanna would be walking around the house
doing little chores to help out mommy and
daddy. Nanna was a tiny woman who wouldn't
say a whole lot.

She was there in the house to live and love
life until she turned 200 years old according to
the grandchildren. Peek-A-Boo would treat
nanna with gentleness. Nanna would make a
coffee and settle into the reading room full of
windows, furniture and plenty of books. This
was the place for her to relax. Peek-A-Boo
would sit on the very chair that Nana chose to
read in. Just as she went to sit down there sat
Peek-A-Boo.
