Among the best things I remember about my dad were 

the Sunday drives he took us on. I remember the time 

we drove to Santa Cruz and walked on the beach and 

the boardwalk.

Entre las mejores cosas que recuerdo de mi padre eran 

las excursiónes por carro de domingo que nos tomó. 

Recuerdo la vez que manejamos a Santa Cruz y 

caminamos en la playa y del paseo marítimo.

I remember the time we drove to the giant 

redwood trees across the Golden Gate Bridge from 

San Francisco.

Recuerdo la vez que manejamos a las Secuoyas en 

el puente Golden Gate de San Francisco.

I remember many times when we drove to Sausalito 

and had lunch down by the water and all the boats. 

But my favorite place was Tiburon and having lunch 

on the dock looking back at Alcatraz Island and San 

Francisco. You could also see Angel Island, but we 

never went there because you cannot drive there.

Recuerdo muchas veces cuando fuimos a Sausalito y 

almorzamos cerca del agua y todos los barcos. Pero mi 

lugar favorito era Tiburon y almorzar en el muelle 

mirando hacia atrás en la isla de Alcatraz y San 

Francisco. También se puede ver la isla Ángel, pero 

nunca fuimos allí porque usted no puede manejar allí.

One of our favorite drives was to Sonoma and the 

wine country. I loved it when this included a stop 

at the swimming place called Boyes Hot Springs in 

Sonoma.

Uno de nuestras excursiónes favoritas era de 

Sonoma y el país del vino . Me encantó cuando 

esto incluyó una parada en el lugar de natación 

llamado Boyes Hot Springs en Sonoma.

One year when I was about 8 years old we drove 

up into the Sierra Nevada mountains on a Sunday 

in the early winter so that I could play in the snow 

for the first time ever in my life. It was wet and 

fun and cold!

Durante un año cuando tenía unos 8 años, 

manejamos en las montañas de Sierra Nevada en 

un domingo en el comienzo del invierno para que 

pudiera jugar en la nieve por la primera vez en mi 

vida. ¡Era húmedo y divertido y frío!

We always stopped at the Nut Tree every time we 

drove toward the Sierras. My dad loved Truckee 

and Fallen Leaf Lake. I loved Emerald Bay.

Siempre paramos al árbol de la tuerca cada vez 

que nos fuimos a las Sierras. Mi papá adoraba 

Truckee y Fallen Leaf Lake. Me encantó Emerald 

Bay.
