It Is Okay to Cry
Jain was a sweet little girl who would fight back her tears on many occasions. She always felt that tears were the signs of weakness. She had three older brothers that would tease her all the time. Whenever there were signs of tears flowing from her big beautiful eyes her brothers would jump at the opportunity to call her a sissy.

Jain loved her brothers very much. She would run and hide in her room when she felt the urge to cry most of the time. Mommy and daddy taught her brothers to be kind and that it was okay to cry. Peter was the oldest of all the children. He knew what it felt like to be sad when he lost his favorite horse. The horse was named Candle. She was a gift given to Peter on his seventh birthday.

Peter would rise early every morning to take care of Candle. He would feed her food and water. After school he would take Candle out for a run until sunset. One day Candle had wandered off the path back to the barn. Peter could not find her. He called and called Candle but she had not return. Daddy and Peter set out in search of Candle. Daddy finally spotted Candle in the distance. What he saw was not a pretty sight.
6
Candle had caught her leg in a narrow rocky hole. Candle had broken her leg. She had to have her leg set in a cast for quite a while. Peter was so upset. When he returned home he went right to his room and stayed there. Anita peeked into his room and had seen Peter crying. She stepped away and never spoke about what she had seen that night.

Mathew was the second oldest brother. He was so kind yet he constantly teased Jain. She figured that it must have been a brother thing to tease their sister. Mathew was old enough to date a girl. He had a huge crush on a strawberry blonde hair, blue eyed girl named Amanda. He would write her name on everything. He even carved her name in the apple tree. On occasion Mathew would sing her name because he was truly in love.

The school prom was approaching and so Mathew prepared himself to ask Amanda to go with him. The prom was one week away so Mathew approached Amanda on the way home from school. With all his bravery and pure sincerity he asked her to go to the prom with him. Amanda never hesitated to reply 'No because I am going with someone else. Sorry Mathew'.

Amanda's reply upset Mathew deeply. He smiled half a grin and moved quickly back to his house. Jain had noticed her brother rushing back home. He had his head low with sadness. She watched Mathew wipe his eyes as if to keep anyone from seeing him upset. Jain felt so sad for Mathew. She never let it be known that she witnessed her older brother shed some tears.
11
Jain's younger brother was named Barry. He was always trying to be brave so his friends would see him as a the strongest one in school. Barry would hold back all his emotions whenever he got hurt. No matter what would happen to him Mathew would bounce back every time. One day Barry had planned to join his friends at the water hole. The one thing everyone had to remember was never to go to the hole alone.
12
Barry would sometimes feel confident and invincible when doing things with his friends. Daddy would always say that safety comes in numbers. Barry chuckled at such nonsense. One day Barry would realize that Daddy was a wise man. Barry decided to get to the water hole before his friends. The day was hot and the water would be perfect to cool him off.
