Josephine was a very nice girl. She loved nature, flowers and birds but she didn't quite like going to school. In fact, she was usually late for her first lesson.

She had no friends and though she would pretend that it didn't bother her, she wasn't very happy. In fact at times she would shed a few tears when no one was watching. She felt very lonely!

3
Children wouldn't play with her because she didn't have fine clothes and she was shy and unattractive. They called her names and she was often left to be on her own.
One day things changed for Josephine. A new girl came to school. She was not quite like the others. There was something different about Kristi, for that was her name.

Kristi was kind and gentle. She didn't care what anyone said. She came to Josephine and asked her to join her for lunch. That was the beginning of their friendship. Josephine was glad to have a friend and when Kristi continued to be kind and generous to her, she asked Kristi why was she so different from other kids in her class.

To this Kristi replied: I will show you if you come with me on Sunday. Josephine gladly agreed and Kristi picked her up early Sunday morning. Shortly after, the girls arrived in the local Church - yes it was time for Sunday School!
