Young Jack was lying in his bed

Wrapped tightly in his swath

While tons of thoughts run through his head

All cozied up in cloth.

Like caterpillar's tight cocoon

Then wiggles out and flies

All wrapped as if with mommy hugs

And daddy's lullabies 

What will tomorrow bring he thought?

Go sail the seven seas

I'll pirate on my pirate yacht

Propelled by waves and breeze

Will I be running up a hill?

To fetch a pail or two

I'd rather run than lay here still

But running I can't do

Or will I eat some fat today

Some say it tastes like mush and goo

It's fat for Jack, but not this jack

It's Mrs. Spratt's, that's who.

Maybe I'll beat on Uncle's drums

And gently tap a cymbal

I'll concentrate for I'm all thumbs

I'm neither quick nor nimble.

Let's take a ride in the new car

To see our friends, the Horners

I like to go real fast and far

And rock when taking corners.

Why don't we all just take a 

walk?

Around the neighborhood

Oh no I cannot walk or talk

That doesn't sound too good
