Today is the BIG day for Sophie.

Today is her first day of kindergarten.

Sophie is really scared and not ready. What if she doesn't fit in?

Sophie wants to make friends by not being her self. She is afraid that by being her self she wont make any friends.

Sophie got to school and saw that this little girl was alone but Sophie didn't want to go up to her and ask if she could be her friend.

Sophie is a very shy person. So she walked over by the swing set to swing by her self. And that little girl walked over to Sophie.

After a little while that one little girl walked up to Sophie and said "hi would you like to be my friend

"What is your name," asked that little girl "My name is Sophie," "What is yours?" asked Sophie "My name is Ruby," said Ruby.

"I am really shy so I don't talk all the time at recess and never in class," said Sophie. "That's fine I am pretty shy too" said Ruby.

"Would you like to be my friend?" asked Ruby.

"Sure why not I don't have any other friends," said Sophie

Then, the bell rang and they walked in and sat next to each other. Every one was wearing dresses and Sophie was wearing jeans and she felt left out. Even Ruby was wearing a dress.

So the next day every one was wearing jeans and Sophie was wearing a dress. Ruby came in late. Sophie saw that she also was wearing a dress so Sophie felt better.
