This is Oxygen, Also known as O.

2
Oxygen is an element, which means you can find him on the periodic table.

3
Every element one the periodic table has a symbol (letter), number and mass.

This is the number. This means there are 8 protons and 8 electrons.
This is the symbol. The symbol usually refers to the first couple of letters in the name of the element.
This is the atomic mass of oxygen. Mass is the amount of matter in an object.
4
Oxygen is a gas. This means he can flow through the air and can be squashed, unlike liquids (Like water) and solids (Like a brick).

5
Oxygen is a non-metal, as metals are shiny, strong and a solid. Oxygen has no colour, is weak and is a gas.

6
Oxygen was discovered in 1772 by a man named Carl W. Scheele. He heated up compounds and found out they let out a gas, oxygen.

7
Oxygen was very lonely. All of his friends had formed compounds with other atoms.

8
Oxygen decided to go on an adventure to find another element to form a compound with.

I'm going on an adventure!
9

Oxygen travelled down the never ending path until he stumbled across Helium...

Do you want to form a compound with me?
Sorry, I am helium. I can't form a compound with other atoms!
So Oxygen continued on his journey.
10
After walking further Oxygen saw Argon...

do you want to form a compound with me?
I can't! I am Argon, I can't form a compound with any atoms!
So Oxygen kept on searching.
