The Story of Lenin

Lenin came into power as a leader of the Bolsheviks. They were part of the Proletariat class - or the lowest class.

Lenin was caught challenging the authority of the Czar and left the country so he was safe.

After the March Revolution Lenin returned to Russia. And the Bolshevik Revolution began.

First the Provisional Government toppled. Then the October Revolution began with the Red Guards.

The October Revolution began because of the saying ¨Peace!, Bread!, Land!¨

After the October Revolution, Civil War raged in Russia. It was the Red Army versus the White Army. The Red Army was made of communists, and the White Army was made of the people against Lenin and his army.

The Bolshevik Revolution lead the Bolsheviks to take over.

After the Bolshevik Revolution Lenin restores order. There was a New Economic Policy. There were Political Reforms, with a Communist Party

The Story of Stalin

Eventually Stalin becomes dictator. And he creates Stalinist Russia.

He made a totalitarianism government. So, there was total control from one central power. He achieved this by four things......

Police terror, indoctrination (control of media and education), propaganda and censorship, and religious or ethnic persecution.

Then Stalin builds a totalitarian state. There were secret police that listen to, read, and watched everything.

Stalin started to become very suspicious. And the Great Purge began. Stalin turned on everyone, even his own friends.

Most people were executed . If you were lucky you were sent to a labor camp.
