3

In a hive, there are drone bees, worker bees, and the queen bee! They all work together to make sure that the hive runs smoothly!
4
Let's learn about the three types of bees!
5

The Queen Bee

6
There is only one queen in every hive. A queen usually lives for up to 2 years. The queen is also the largest bee in the whole hive. She is usually about 2 cm long.
7
The queen bee's main job is to lay eggs. She can lay 200,000 eggs in a given year! She also is in charge of making new colonies if needed, by a process called swarming.

8
The Drone Bee

9
The drone bees are the only male bees in the hive! Their eyes are twice the size of the other bees within the hive. This way, it is easier for them to find the queen! Drone's usually live only about 90 days. Drone bees also cannot sting; they do not have a stinger attached to them!
