Muslims are somewhat demonised in the media, and the media is important in shaping one's perception of people or ideas. Research carried out by the University of Wisconsin demonstrated that the best way to reduce prejudice and stereotypes people have adopted because of the media, is to show Muslims positively and help people identify with them. They discovered doing this helped people adopt a long-lasting, positive attitude towards Muslims. I wanted to achieve a similar result with this book.
