After being forced to spend time inside because of his condition, Frank spent a lot of his time making candies with his mother.

5
When Frank became an adult, he used what he learned to start up a confectionery, selling candies that were made in his own kitchen.

That same year, Franklin got married to Ethel Kissack. They then had a child together named Forrest Edward Mars.

9
Sadly, both the confectionery and marriage failed. Franklin moved to Washington, USA with his new wife Ethel Veronica Healy, and their daughter Patricia, while Forrest moved to Canada to live with his grandparents.
