The cactus is a plant that has spikes on it and generally lives in hot places like the desert.
Fun Fact: The cactus absorbs water and keeps it this is how they survive in the hot places.

Flowers are also plants. Daisies come in all colors like red, orange, yellow, pink and white.
Fun Fact: Daisies grow every where except for Antarctica.

Flora is all the plant life in a particular region. Flora is different all over the world.
Fun Fact: A region with an abundance of flora in Florida is the Everglades.

Plant Growth
Plants need water, sun and soil so that they can grow. In gardens people provide the plants with most of these things but outside the plants get it from the environment. For example, the water comes from the rain.

Herbs
Many plants create herbs that most people use to cook yummy food! Some herbs are even used as medicine.
Fun Fact: People from a long time ago believed that herbs had magical powers and could do things like make people fall in love.

Invasive Plants
Some plants are brought to places where they should not be. They are brought so that they can be sold. Some of these plants invade that locations environment and can be very harmful.

Jasmine
Jasmine is a plant that grows on shrubs. It is used for many things like it is made into oils.
Fun Fact: It is a very popular plant because of its delicious smell.

Kiwi Tree
Kiwi is one of the most vitamin filled fruits. It was named kiwi because of how much it looks like the fuzzy brown kiwi which is New Zealand's national bird.

The leaf is one of the most important parts of the plant. It can come in many different shapes, sizes and color.
Fun Fact: The leaf produces food for the plant through something called photosynthesis.

Marigold
Marigolds usually come in yellow, orange, and maroon. They have extremely big and beautiful petals. This is why many people want to grow them in their garden.
Fun Fact: Most marigolds smell pretty bad but this helps in keeping the insects away.

Nectar
Ever wonder why bees are always around plants? Well it's because bees eat nectar which is a sweet fluid that plants create.
Fun Fact: Bees store the nectar in a part of their body called the honey sac.

Oak
Oak trees live on the Northern hemisphere. Oak trees create acorns which feeds many different animals.
Fun Fact: Oak trees are usually very big they can reach 70 feet in height.
