Horses are big, gentle, mammals with speed, grace and many unique features. Horses have four legs, two eyes, hooves, a mane, and a tail. They have the largest eyes of any land mammal. They have three eye lids on each eye too. Horses can be 4.7-6 feet tall. They are covered in short hair. A young male horse is called a colt, and a young female horse is called a filly. An adult male is called a stallion, and an adult female is called a mare. Horses can carry alot of weight. They can pulled carriages and can be used as a source of transportation. Horses live to be 20-25 years old.

Horses live throughout the world in a grassy habitat. Domesticated horses, owned by people, live in barns, corrals, and stables. Wild horses, live in wide, green, grassy areas and fields throughout eleven different states. They may use a tree to shelter themselves from wind and rain. Most horses are now domesticated. They are originally from Europe and Asia.
