Long, long ago in the deep south girls were all supposed to wear ruffled dresses and act like a lady. Everyone followed through with these traditions except for one little girl, Scout Finch.

Scout Finch was an intelligent and observant young girl but was always put down by others simply because she was different from all of the other girls in town. She liked to wear boy clothes and get into fights which were not okay for girls to do.
