Greetings Jr. astronomers! My name is Petey the E.T. (Extraterrestrial), and I am in need of assistance as I travel the Milky Way Galaxy in search of a celestial body with an abundant capacity I can inhabit for the duration of my life. So are you conformable with my request? You are? YAY! Transmitting positive vibes!

According to the big bang theory, the universe is 10-20 billion years old. Oh look! This is a barred spiral galaxy! Did you know the center is called a galactic bulge, and inside the center is a massive black hole! This galaxy alone, is one of billions in the universe and is called the Milky Way. Perhaps there is potential within these orbiting bodies.

I am searching for a planet that contains a sufficient troposphere allowing convection in the atmosphere and consisting of mostly Nitrogen and some Oxygen. Primarily I need H2O, and a permeable lithosphere containing various nutrients and minerals. Decomposition is a necessity as well.

Oh look at that average star! I can feel it emitting energy through thermal radiation. It is only a mere twenty-seven million degrees shall we take a closer observation Jr. astronomer? I sense a strong gravitational force. Did you see that prominence leaping from the sun? Maybe we shouldn't look at the sun without adequate protection from the ultraviolet rays. There appears to be smaller celestial bodies orbiting the sun on an elliptical plane. Oh yes indeed there are, why it is the Solar System! I've only heard fables about it. Let's go investigate the smaller concentric celestial bodies upon a new home for me!

5

6
Ah! Yes indeed the famous Solar System. Consisting of eight spherical orbiting planets, along with their moons. They all appear to rotate around the sun at different speeds due to the suns gravity and solar energy. Some look dense consisting of sedimentary rock while others look condensed due to vapor pressure and compression. There appears to be comets, asteroids, meteoroids, and lots of debris and gases throughout this system. Let us individually investigate each heavenly body further shall we? Positive high frequency of joy!

7

We are at the eighth planet from the sun and oh wow! Look at the disrupted state of the atmosphere; those white streaks are storms! In fact this celestial sphere has the strongest winds of all the planets. This is the stormy
Jovian planet Neptune and it is blue in color due to the gaseous methane in the upper atmosphere; methane absorbs red light and reflects blue light. It also contains hydrogen and helium. It is -392 degrees Fahrenheit, and yes, that is cold! The light we see coming from the planet is the reflection of the sunlight. This doesn't seem like a fundamental environment to inhabit, I believe we shall continue on our quest upon a new home for me!

8

Here is the seventh Jovian planet from the sun Uranus, also known as the icy giant. It too has an atmosphere of Hydrogen, methane and helium, a similar composition as Neptune. The axis of Uranus is tilted at an angle of 98 degrees compared to the suns orbital plane! Yes, Uranus does have rings, 13, and 27orbiting moons. The volume of Uranus is 63 times that of Earth.

This spherical planet has a core believed to be layered icy material composed of water, methane and ammonia ice. Maybe not the best choice, shall we proceed on our quest upon a new home for me!

9

I spy a big gas giant! Saturn! Second largest planet in this Solar System, its gaseous atmosphere is responsible for its bright coloration. Saturn's axis is too tilted at an angle; 26.7 degrees of the suns orbital plane. Saturn, although huge in size, has an extremely low density and could literally float on H2O.
Saturn rotates every ten hours and thirty-nine minutes, and makes one revolution around the sun every 29 years. It has 62 satellites; Titan being the second largest moon in the Solar System and the only celestial body to have a distinguishable atmosphere; similar to Earth due to its nitrogenous quality. Perhaps this gas giant nor it's moons are suitable, shall we proceed in our quest upon a new home for me?

10

We now have arrived at Jupiter, the Jovian planet. Jupiter is a massive planet; biggest in the Solar System. It's comprised of nearly all gases, compressed into a liquid, with a thick atmosphere of clouds mostly consisting of hydrogen and helium. There is a 400 year old storm that resembles a hurricane, called the great
red spot; it's diameter could hold two earths. A day on Jupiter is nearly ten hours making it the fastest rotating planet. The core is surrounded by a liquid sea of metallic hydrogen giving it immense magnetic properties. Jupiter has 64 satellites but perhaps a more solid ground for our quest upon a new home for me?
