Chapter 1: Introduction
Learning about computers can seem like an overwhelming topic to approach. It can appear to be something only to be understood by “geeks” or nerds”. However if you break this complicated topic into smaller bite size pieces, computers can become much easier to understand. This book will provide an overview of the four basic functions of a computer: input, processing, output and storage.

Chapter 2: Input
Input is the bits and pieces of information we put into a computer. Input can be entered into the computer in various ways. For example using a keyboard we can type letters and numbers in a computer document on a spreadsheet. In addition we can input video or photographic information into a computer. We can also input a software program in the computer. The final source of input is through downloading information from the internet.

Chapter 3: Processor
As a user, we normally input information in a computer so the computer can manipulate, calculate or “process“ information for our use in some manner. The processer would be considered the brains of the operation. Through programming instructions that have also been put in the computer, the computer processor completes math calculations, organizes information in a database or can make a DVD.
