Johnny sat in the car, ready for action on the way to his hockey game. His mom and dad could not attend because they had to work - it was a shame.

His aunt and uncle drove him to the rink, as Johnny listened to music to prepare. When they arrived at the arena, he was ready for the big hockey affair.

Johnny was happy, skating on the ice. Playing hockey was his favorite - you could just tell. But after he fell, his head didn't feel too well.

Crash!

His aunt was scared but his uncle came running from the stands, rushing to the rescue. He asked him, "Are you okay, little nephew?"

Johnny blinked a few times, looking like he had been in a fight. "My head hurts," he said. "And these lights are really bright."

The next thing he knew Johnny was blacked out. His aunt and uncle looked at each other - he has a concussion, without a doubt.

Johnny woke up, squinting and confused. "Ouch!" he said. "I think my head is bruised."

Ouch!

"Hi Johnny," the doctor said. "Your head is not bruised, but it looks like you have a concussion. So that's why you're in a hospital bed."
