Meet The Authors:
OM: I like making math problems and math tests for my friends. I also like doing experiments with things like marbles, flashlight, magnifier, water etc. I like to play piano and read books as well. Do you want to know a secret about me? Shhhh…, I also like writing stories that you will know soon!
GABRIEL: My hobbies are drawing, reading, writing, and playing on the computer. I also love to make live action movies with my brothers. I also like to go bowling and miniature golfing.
BRADY: I love to play hockey and baseball. My favorite hockey player is Tyler Seguin, my favorite football player is Tom Brady and my favorite baseball player is Jacoby Ellsbury. I play outside with my friends, build legos and color. I love animals, especially, my cat Trot.

Preface:
In this story, three kids are trying to solve all sorts of math problems using math codes. It also shows the feeling and behavior of kids when they come across some hard problems.
At the end, this story teaches some good lessons to the audience about how to work together when you have hard time with “ASMDF” problems.
What is “ASMDF”? Read the book to discover the code and the secret of math fun.
3
Puzzle Questions:
After reading this book and knowing the code, try solving these problems. If you can solve them, you are a GENIUS!
20 + A = 30,
B + 30 = 20,
2*C-(30-20) = 10.
What are A, B, and C? How are they related to ASMDF?

Subtraction (“S”) is not hard either.
We can solve it, don’t you think so?
What is 98-16? It is 82, yeah!

6
Sometimes, addition (“A”) and subtraction (“S”) are hard with parentheses!
Let’s see some examples:
What is 5-(3+1)? (it really is”5-3-1”)
Or,
What is 5 + (3-1)? (It really is “5+3-1”)
You can figure this out, by knowing how to do this:
If there is a “–“in front of parenthesis the “+” or “-“will be the opposites! If it’s “+”, it will stay the same.
