Dear Diary,

It's my birthday today, and I am finally 8 years old! My birthday party was so much fun! Mommy and daddy were here, and so were my best friends Jalen and Leona. I got a brand new remote control car and the biggest teddy bear ever from mommy and daddy. Exactly what I asked for! We had a huge cake with 8 candles I had to blow out, it was exhausting but I blew out every single one! It is bedtime now, and my cheeks are red and sore because I smiled so much today! It was the best birthday ever. Goodnight Diary.

Dear Diary,

Today when I got home from school mommy was crying and daddy was yelling...she looked like she got hurt. Daddy yelled at me to come upstairs, so I did. I can still hear mommy crying and daddy yelling at her. I am super worried about her, but I don't know what to do. I don't want to go downstairs to see if she is okay because I don't want daddy to get mad at me again. I guess I will just stay here and do some homework and try to sleep. Thank gosh I have you to talk to, diary. I hope they stop yelling soon, it really scares me...I just want things to be back to normal.

Dear Diary,

This month has been super crazy, diary! Mommy and daddy have been fighting almost every day. It turns out mommy got fired from her job and that really made daddy mad. All they do is fight about money, and mommy is always crying. I tried to give them my remote control car and teddy bear back that they got me for my birthday, but they said that won't help. I have been spending a lot of time at my friend Jalen's house. I usually go there after school and his mommy always lets me stay for dinner. I get a funny feeling in my tummy when I have to go home to sleep. I sure hope mommy and daddy make up soon so things can get back to normal...

Dear Diary,

Today had to be one of the scariest days of my life! When I got home from Jalen's house tonight mommy was bleeding, even more than when I fell off my bike and had to go to the hospital last year! She wouldn't tell me how she got hurt, and but I gave her my cool skateboard bandages I had in my room, but I think her ouchie was too big for them to cover. It was weird today, because daddy was not home taking care of her. I wonder where he is. Mommy said she did not feel like talking, so I came up to my room again and I am going to try to sleep on my own. I am sure worried about her, and I hope daddy gets home soon to make sure she is okay. I keep thinking it is my fault because they spent too much money on my cool birthday presents, and now they don't have enough. I hope when I wake up, things are back to normal...

Dear Diary,

I'm so sorry I have not written you in a while! Mommy and I had to move out of our house, and I couldn't remember where I packed you! Mommy said daddy wasn't being nice to her anymore, and she wanted to keep us both safe. So we moved to a huge building with so many different rooms, and each room has a different family living in it. Mommy said it is called a shelter. It is like they are our neighbors, but we are in the same house! I really miss having Leona and Jalen as neighbors though, I have not been able to see them since the last day of school! I miss going to Jalen's house for dinner and I have been really sad lately. I hope we can move back home soon, I want things to be back to normal.

Dear Diary,

Today we moved again! Twice in two months! Mommy said we had to leave our other place, because we could not stay there any longer and someone else needed a turn. I was really sad when she told me this, and it kind of made me mad. I was just starting to make a new friend, John, who lived with his mommy down the hall from us. And our new place is not as nice, but mommy said we can stay here longer. It is kind of the same as the last place we lived, but it took so long to get here, almost two hours! I am worried I won't be able to go to the same school next month, which really makes me sad because I was so excited to see Jalen and Leona, I have been looking forward to that all summer. Mommy seems like she is still sad to! I still hear her crying when I am trying to sleep at night. I sure hope things get back to normal soon, I sure miss daddy.
