There was once a boy named 

Tommy. 

He was a very happy boy.

He loved his family and friends, 

And his favorite food was ice 

cream.

Tommy loved to play games!

When he was 5 years old, Tommy 

sometimes couldn't remember 

things, like what his homework was. 

Sometimes, it was hard for him to 

read and write. 

Sometimes, he had trouble speaking.

As Tommy got older, he had 

trouble seeing things. 

He also sometimes could not 

control when his body moved.. 

When Tommy ate or drank, it was 

hard for him to swallow. 

Sometimes, he didn't do very well 

in school.

Tommy's mommy was worried 

that Tommy was sick. So, she 

took him to a nice family doctor. 

On the way, they drove through 

the big town. Tommy loved to see 

all the giant buildings!

Doctor Moser was a very nice 

man. He talked to Tommy about 

what he was feeling, and he asked 

him some cool questions. The 

doctor said that he didn't know 

what was making Tommy feel sick. 

He told Tommy's mommy that she 

should take him to a doctor called 

a neuroradiologist . 

Tommy and his mommy were sad because 

they didn't want Tommy to feel badly. 

Tommy knew that to get better, he had 

to go see a special doctor that knew just 

what would make him better. 

But, this special doctor lived far away, 

and Tommy was nervous about being away 

from his friends. 

But, his mommy said that it would only be 

for a short while, and she bought him 

some ice cream!

Tommy got to fly on an airplane. 

It was his first time being up so 

high in the air! 

The flight attendants were very 

nice to him, and they gave him 

yummy snacks. He could see 

white, fluffy clouds the whole 

time, and the pilot let him go into 

the cockpit! 

At the special doctor's office, 

Dr. Jill Hunter ran some special 

tests, like blood tests and MRIs. 

The doctor told Tommy   and his 

Mommy that they should come in 

again 8 days later. 

In the meantime, Tommy stayed 

in a fancy hotel, and watched his 

favorite TV show.
