This book is dedicated to my mom for her inspiration and encouragement

Her hair was all scraggly
Her skin SHADES OF green
Her head hurt
Her feet hurt
She was grumpy and mean
A long time ago
In a far away land
There lived an YOUNG girl
This girl had a plan.

Her friends called her Katie
And the townspeople say
That no one dared visit her
And she liked it that way
So she kept to herself
In a dark wooden shack
At the edge of the forest
On her door hung a plaque
Beware..Go Away..Stay Back

BEWARE

Now a sweet girl named Iris
Was living nearby
Her skin was pure white
Her feet were pint size
And a sparkle of light
Seemed to flow from her eyes

She carried a secret
And folks say it's true
Young Iris was once
A grumpy girl too
But something had changed her
Now what could that be
Katie was curious
And just had to see

Her plan was to follow
Young Iris to town
For she carried a book
With secrets abound
Did this book have some magic
Or some type of potion
Could she have discovered
a secret, or some kind of lotion

HMMM

One day while Katie
had just walked inside
She noticed that Iris
was walking nearby

Grumbling, but curious
she crept to the door
For no one dared come
So near her before
She watched through the window
And made not a sound
As Iris walked past her
But then turned around.

In her hand was the book
she needed to see
It told of a secret
Now what could that be
Why did she stop
Katie just had to know
Then a small spark of light
Seemed to dance and to glow

LIGHT

It circled young Iris
From her feet to her chin
Then that magical light
Was all gone again
Iris started to walk
With a smile on her face
And happiness flowed out
All over the place.

"I must have rgat book
She said to herself
So she ran out and snatched it

SPELLS
Katie went to her kitchen
And just like a spell
She mumbled some words
As she did the book fell
From Iris' feet
It flew through the air
And finally landed
In Katie's porch chair

mumbo..
jumbo

Katie rushed out and grabbed it
Then ran down the street
Huffing and puffing
So fast went her feet
Iris started to chase her
But couldn't keep up
That narrow road twisted
And turned it was tough

Then Katie stopped quickly
where no one could see
and tip toed so quiet
Behind an oak tree
