John Adams became the 2nd U.S. President after serving two terms as Vice President under George Washington. He was elected President in 1797.

In 1770 Adams represented British soldiers who killed five civilians in what is know as the Boston Massacre.

Adams was a delegate from Massachusetts in the Second Continental Congress.
Adams signed the Alien and Sedition Acts which stated that the residence requirements for American citizenship is raised from 5 to 14 years and the President could deport or jail any alien considered undesirable.
Adams sent three men to Paris to negotiate a solution with the French which came to be known as the XYZ Affairs.

Jefferson drafted the Declaration of Independence. This explained why the 13 colonies wanted to be free of British rule.

In 1803 Jefferson purchased land for 15 million dollars and it became known as the Louisiana Purchase. This purchase from Napoleon, the leader of France at the time, doubled the size of the U.S overnight.

Jefferson became the 3rd U.S President in the election of 1800 after serving as Vice President for John Adams.
He was the first Secretary of State for the U.S and he held the position from 1789- 1794.
Jefferson was a delegate of the Second Continental Congress and was one of the Founding Fathers of the United States.

John Marshall
He was Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court during the Marbury vs. Madison case. In this case he declared the Judiciary Act unconstitutional.

In 1801 Marshall was elected as the fourth Chief Justice of the U.S Supreme Court. He held this position for 34 years.

Marshall was a part of the team put together by President John Adams to go to Paris and meet with the French. This became knows as the XYZ Affairs.
He is largley responsible for establishing the Supreme Court's role in federal government.
Marshal served as an officer in the Continental Line in the Revolutionary War. He also experienced the hardships faced in the winter at Valley Forge.
