Rivers and streams are bodies of water that flow from one place to another place. They are found all over the world.
5
Abiotic factors are non-living parts of an ecosystem. Abiotic factors include the temperature of the water, how fast the water is flowing, and how much air is in the water.
The temperature of the water can greatly affect the streams because if the water gets too cold or too hot the animals that live in the water can start to die off.

Biotic factors are the living parts of an ecosystem. Some biotic factors of a stream or river are fish, algae, and cattails.
These biotic factors affect the streams, because they use nutrients from the pond for food and keep the pond from becoming too full of certain plants and animals.
9
Limiting Factors of an ecosystem are factors that limits the growth of any ecosystem.
Density-dependent factors are any factors that limit the number of animals based on other animals, such as plants that grow in streams and population increase.
Density-independent factors are any factors that limit the number of animals and does not depend on other animals, such as the structure of the stream and the depth.

Producers are living things that make food inside themselves. Some producers in streams are algae, bacteria, fungi, and plants.
Primary consumers are animals that eat producers. Some of these are plankton and water spiders.
13
Secondary consumers are animals that eat the primary consumers. In streams, these include flies and small fish.
Tertiary consumers are animals that eat the secondary consumers. These are frogs and large fish.

A food web is a diagram that shows which animal eats what in an ecosystem.
