Today I feel like it is going to be the best day ever! Today we find out who made our school basketball team. "Woohoo," I yell as I head out the door.

I'm so excited, I sprint to school that morning as fast as a rocket!

I kept a steady pace that led me right into the locker room. I quickly slipped into my practice jersey as my body shakes with excitement.

I run out to join the other players... and then... the coach comes out.

Coach started to read down the list, telling us who made the team. I could tell he was getting close to the bottom by where his finger was pointing on the clipboard in front. He finally got to the bottom and my name had not been called. I did not make the basketball team.

My mind then went to a different place...

As I headed home that day from school, my mood had shifted from excited to sad. What were my parents going to say?

A smile emerged on my face as I tried to sneak through the kitchen so I could go upstairs to my room in peace...

...but they caught me in the living room.

They then both ask me how my day went?
