I dedicate this to my sister, whose writing has always inspired me (though this story is perhaps not the best example of that)
*this book was made for children ages 5-7*

In the bedroom of a girl, a tiny bird named Ari spent day after day living in a cage.

Ari loved her girl, but, while she was allowed out of her cage almost every day, she wanted something more.

Every day, Ari stared out of the window, longing to join the other birds that she saw flying by and to feel the wind in her feathers.

And she would look on at the world outside her window, longing to explore. She wondered what lay beyond her sight.
And at night she dreamed of a vast, open sky.

The girl began to notice the way Ari stared out the window as though she longed to fly far, far away. The girl became conflicted.

Should I set her free?
The girl decided that she wanted Ari to be happy. One day, she took Ari out to the village to let her be set free. Though it was hard for her to do, she felt it was the right thing.

But Ari found that she could not bring herself to leave her girl, but perhaps...
Perhaps they could accompany each other on whatever journeys they may go on in the future.
