Rani Laxmi Bai was a leading figure of the Indian state of Jhansi. Rani was very independent and was allowed to learn about the arts of war, things like self defense, horseback riding, and archery. Rani was married very young to the Raja of Jhansi and she became queen.

Rani gave birth to a son in 1851, but he died just four months later. After that, Rani and her husband adopted another son. However, her husband couldn't recover from the grief of their first son's death and he died two years later. Rani was left to lead the country at just eighteen.

Lord Dalhousie from the British East India Company wanted to make a deal with Rani and give her money to have her property. Rani did not accept the deal. She gathers a group of 14,000 rebels and organizes an army to fight against the British for taking advantage of them.







Rani heard about the how the casing of bullets were greased with beef and pork fat and that was disrupting the Indian traditions. She sent her troops to fight against the British.
