I am dedidcating this story to California and Carroll Shelby!

Michael had failed as a father. His wife was gone, he lived in the projects of Philadelphia, and the only thing he had left, his son, Jacob, hated him.
Jacob was at school and Michael was at home. The TV was on and and Michael, as usual, was watching it. Then, a sound came from the direction of the doorway. At first, Michael thought it was a rat, but it was actually a yellow package that had been slipped under the door.
Oddly enough, the label said the envelope was all the way from San Diego, California. Michael curiously opened it, and to his surprise, it was from an uncle that he didn't even know existed.
The letter inside stated that that Michael had inherited his uncle's 1967 Shelby GT500. Michael was stunned. He did some research and discovered there was a car show in Philadelphia three days later, and that the winner would receive a grand prize of two million dollars.
Realizing that this was his one and only shot at turning his family's life around, Michael jumped on the next plane to San Diego with Jacob.
The car stared at its new owner with ferocity, as if challenging Michael to drive all the way back to Philadelphia in two days. They immediately set off and the first few hours were smooth. As Michael looked out the window he saw palm trees swaying in the wind, with sea gulls fling overhead. It was what he had always pictured California to look like.Stunning views and the roar of the engine was all that existed in Michael's world. That was until they reached Amarillo.
