Anointing of The Sick
What does this Ritual Celebrate?
This sacrament helps bring Jesus closer with those who are sick. People get forgiveness for their sins and suffering. Sometimes people even start to heal after the sacrament.

A priest rubs on olive oil (oil of the sick) onto those who are ill, injured, or elderly.
They say to them, "Through this Holy anointing may the Lord in His love and mercy help you with the grace of the Holy Spirit. Amen."
Rituals of This Sacrament

When they rub their hands they also say, "May the Lord who frees you from sin save you and raise you up".
The oil and gesture of the priest represents the restored spirit.

Why is this Sacrament important?
This sacrament is important because it brings spiritual and physical strength during tough times. It creates hope and gives us a chance to have our sins forgiven by God.
