I am Benjamin Franklin.

I was born on January 17, 1706, in Boston, Massachusetts.

I made candles with my 16 siblings, but I got bored and ran away to Philadelphia.

My father wanted to send me to ministry school, but he could not afford it and I was stuck making candles.

I went to school for two years, and I was a good student so I learned enough to stop going to school.

I worked hard with my dad making candles, but I was bored so my dad sent me to a printing shop with my brother, James. James taught me how to write and I found out that I loved writing.

I loved swimming, but I was bad at it and wanted to find a way to swim faster. I made swim fins, and I won all of the swimming races.

I liked writing, but James would not let me put any of my writing in the newspaper.

I got tired of James saying no, so I ran away.

I liked experimenting with electricity. Once I tried electrocuting a turkey. I almost got electrocuted myself.

I tried flying a kite in a thunderstorm, and I found that lightning had static electricity.

I made my own instrument and called it the Glass harmonica. It was used by Beethoven.

I did not like the British, so my friends and I dumped all of the tea out of boats and the water turned brown.

The British people were mean, so I went to France to get help in defeating the British.

I made a machine that protected houses from lightning. It was called the lightning rod.
