For my friends, Emma and Breezy, for having to suffer through cyber bullying.

It was a normal day for Akira. She went to school, came home, and got on her computer. Nothing really seemed to change, at least until she got a notification on her Facebook. A post? she thought. Why would someone post about me?
She got her answer once she clicked the link leading her to the post. Akira's face contorted into a look of horror; people had been posting terrible things about her. Comments flooded the post and she couldn't seem to look away. Soon, it wasn't just comments, there were now messages from others that she thought were friends. Obviously, they weren't, one would be able to tell by the messages they had sent.
Tears ran down Akira's face and dripped onto the keyboard as her hands shook from the emotional pain. Why would anyone say something like this to a human? she wondered. She hadn't even done anything, she was like every other good girl. She'd never say anything like this to someone, in person or not. An obnoxious 'ping' repeated as more messages and comments filled her feed.
`Soft sobs escaped her throat as knocking sounded out from outside her door.
"Yes?" Akira croaked.
"Are you okay, honey?" her father asked worriedly.
"I'm fine, father," she replied.
The door opened and her father rushed to her side.
"Don't lie to me," he said firmly, "I can help. Now, what's wrong?"
Akira looked down and shamefully pointed to her screen. Not long later, a growl resonated from her father.
"It won't help," she whispered, "it might get worse."

Her father looked at her with a sad look and kissed her forehead. She sniffled and hugged him tightly before reluctantly letting go. One more 'ping' came from her computer and Akira winced slightly, taking a look at it after a few seconds. With a sigh of relief, she realized it was just her friend asking if she was okay. She quickly typed a 'yes' and shut her computer off.
That night, Akira cried herself to sleep. Her sobs echoed throughout the house almost the whole night until she passed out from exhaustion. She woke up the next morning and hurried to school, only being able to stomach a piece of toast with a scrape of butter along the way. She smiled at everyone she passed by in the hallway, but they just snickered at her.
