Hi! My name is Sylvaine and welcome to my home here in N'Djamena!

Chad is one of the poorest countries in the world, and 5 people have to share a little hut and call it home.

This is my family. My papa's name is Thomas, my mama's name is Jodie, my little brother's name is Yannick, and my little sister's name is Nya.

My day starts off by waking up around 6:30 AM and helping my mama clean and make breakfast.

Everyone wakes up and eats breakfast, one of the most popular foods, millet paste, is mixed with milk to create a cereal.

After me, Yannick, and Nya finish getting ready for school, we walk there. It's about a 10 minute walk.

Our school is a small wooden shack with a tin roof. It isn't the ideal thing but we are very lucky children. Only 5 out of 10 children finish primary school in Chad.

During school, the teacher will teach one group of the kids while the other is working on an assignment.
