Quin had always been alone on the shelf.

His shelf had remained empty for years.

Not once did he venture off of it to find a friend.

Not once had he even thought about it.

Until one day...

His shelf became full of others, just like himself!

Quin was excited to meet so many new faces, all, he thought, were just like him.

"Hello," said Quin, shouting to the tall fellow in the back corner.

"It's nice to finally have someone around here like myself," yelled Quin.

"Us like you?" snarled the weapon holding fellow in the other corner.

"We are not like you at all! Just look at your odd arms and legs!"

"You don't even have a face," piped in one of the smaller men.

They were right, Quin thought to himself as he looked his bending arms and legs.

He was not like them at all.

And for the first time in his life, Quin left the shelf.

He wandered until he was lost and couldn't find his own way back.

He walked until eventually he stumbled upon an odd looking Gnome, who offered him some advice...

"Look kid, you are who you are. There's no changing that. There's no shame in being different. What's the harm in that?"

While Quin was thinking about what the gnome had meant, the man from the corner called out to him.

"Help us! Help us! Our Princess has fallen down!"

"Then pick her back up," Quin said to the man.

"We cannot! Our arms cannot move!"

Quin looked at the man's arms, glued to his sides and agreed to help him pick up their Princess who had fallen.

Upon returning to the shelf, he found her lying on her side, scared that she would never again stand with her people.
