Dedicated to Mr.Biri's Block 3 APUSH class

There was once a young lady named Rosa Parks. She was the same as everyone else, but her skin was of a darker color. One day, she got on the bus and sat in the front seat because it was empty. All of a sudden, a man of lighter skin yelled at her to give him her seat! She said no, of course. But she was taken to jail for this, even though she had done nothing wrong!

Many people realized that what happened to their friend Rosa was not fair. So they stopped riding the buses until all people could sit wherever they wanted, no matter what their skin color was. This was called the Montogomery Bus Boycott, and it lasted 385 days! Finally, the bus companies were losing too much money, so they gave in and let Rosa and her friends sit wherever they wanted on the buses.

There were once nine colored children who wanted to go to high school with children who weren't colored. But there was a bag, bad monster named Orval Faubus, and he was the governor of Arkansas. He used the Arkansas National Guard to block the kids from going to school!

But then, Dwight D. Eisenhower, the President, saved the day! He sent 1,000 troops to protect the kids, who became known as the Little Rock Nine. They got to go to school with the lighter people, and Orval Faubus' evil plan failed!
