I would like to say thank you to my parents Roy Van Buskirk and Jennifer Van Buskirk. They brought me all the way to Costa Rica from my home in Georgia to see the rain forest and animals. I then developed my love of my favorite animal... SLOTHS! I'd also like to thank Jason Kulich for making the character "Brady."

Once upon a time, there was a baby sloth named Sam. He was different than the other sloths. He didn't sleep the whole 17 hours like a normal sloth would, his nails were not very good for climbing, and he didn't eat leaves. He ate human food.
His friend Brady always thought that he was weird for not following the sloth ways, but they were still friends.
Brad was Sam's favorite friend. He was like him in some ways. They were both 11 and they were both good at camouflaging with their brown fur. Sadly Brad is a pygmy sloth, so his species is endangered.
Together Sam and Brad snuck out of their trees to watch one of their favorite things... Stars. That night was a special meteor shower. "I wish I was like the other sloths," Sam said as a comet flew by. He believed he would always be different than others.
Sam went to sleep that night, sad. He just wished he fit in.
When he woke up that morning he didn't feel different. He still woke up way too early. He stared at the other sloths from his tree disappointed. Then, he had an idea. Maybe he fit into another species of animals.
He, met a black panther in his tree. He tried to hang around him and be like him.
Sam still didn't fit in with Pax the Panther. He was far too fast and Sam couldn't catch up. He decided to find a new friend.
Sam found a penguin that recently escaped a zoo. They played rock, paper, scissors, but Perry the Penguin missed his home
Perry said his good-byes and went home to his family at the zoo.
