Today was a special day for Catherine. It was her birthday! She was turning 8 years old. She invited some of her friends, and she was waiting in excitement for them to arrive.

Finally, Catherine's friends arrived. Her friends were Millie, Jose, and Noah.

"Come on you guys, the cake is waiting in the kitchen." Catherine said.

Once everyone was in the kitchen, Catherine turned to face her cake.

"Here's my birthday cake. It's chocolate with pink icing!" Catherine exclaimed.

Noah thought the cake looked so good, and he wanted a bite.

"No, Noah! Catherine gets to have the first piece because it's her birthday." Millie said.

Noah got angry and decided he would smash the birthday cake.
