Christmas Day at
Mrs. Eklund's House
Mrs. Eklund loves Christmas. She was thrilled to have her family from Texas visit her for the holiday.
She decorated the house and hung dazzling ornaments from the Christmas tree. Knowing her mother loves chocolate, she baked gooey chocolate chip brownies, sprinkled with candy canes on top.
On the day her family was scheduled to arrive, Mr. and Mrs. Eklund drove to Omaha to pick them up from the airport. When her family got off of the plane, she gave them all enormous hugs and drove them back to Lincoln.
That night, she took her family ice skating. After that, they watched one of Mrs. Eklund's favorite movies, Elf. They also opened up one present, a Christmas Eve tradition in Mrs. Eklund's family.
On Christmas morning, Mrs. Eklund woke up to the sensational smell of her mom's famous cinnamon rolls. She dashed down the stairs to find her mom in the kitchen with breakfast prepared. Mrs. Eklund and her family ate breakfast, drank coffee, and opened presents.
The rest of the day was filled with Christmas movies, games, and heaps of heavenly desserts. Mrs. Eklund is already excited to host Christmas at her house again next year.
