One day in the town of Friendly, all the children went to school. It was their favorite place because they got to play with all of their friends!

All of the children were so happy when they got to go play outside on the playground! It was very hot outside, but the children were still happy to go play!

Lilly saw Benny playing all by himself. He looked sad, so Lilly said "Benny, do you want to play with me?"

But this just made Benny mad. He screamed,"Get away from me!"

This made Lilly sad. She did not understand why Benny was so mean to her when she was trying to help.

Later, all the children went to play soccer! Most everyone was having fun, but not Benny. He was away from everyone else and was having trouble kicking the ball. He felt as small as an ant.

Lilly tried again to make Benny feel better. She said "Benny, I can help you kick the soccer ball!"

But again, this just made Benny mad. He screamed,"Get away from me!"

Now Lilly started to feel as small as an ant.

After school, Benny went home to play a video game. He began getting very mad at game and yelling at the t.v. Benny's mom told him to be quiet, but he yelled at her too and kept on playing.

When Benny yelled at his mom, it made her sad. She did not know how to get Benny to stop being so mean, so she just left him alone and let him do what he wanted to do. She loved Benny and did not want him to be mad at her.

The next day at school, Lilly went and told her teacher that Benny was always being mean to her when she was trying to help. She said,"He makes me sad."

Lilly's teacher was very smart. After hearing Lilly's story, she gave her some help.
