Amy Nordlund got a call from a lady Mrs. 

Edgerton, asking for a babysitting job. Once 

she gets to the Edgerton's home she finds out 

that their name means a lot. While Amy is 

babysitting she has a horrible flashback about 

her father and what took his life. 

While she's thinking about her father she is 

disrupted by a sound. She goes on to look 

for Kendra but is nowhere to be found. Amy 

then comes to the conclusion that she has 

been kidnapped. 

As Amy tries to call the police she is 

accompanied by the two kidnappers. They 

decide to take her too just in case she doesn't 

call the cops and helps them with Kendra. Amy 

knows that these two men can hurt her if they 

wanted to. 

Mrs. Edgerton finds out that Kendra and Amy 

are gone and have been kidnapped. She calls 

the police even though the note the kidnappers 

left said not to. Amy's mom gets the call about 

her daughter and can't cope about what has 

happened. 

Smokey and Hugh have no idea how they're 

going to take care of not one but two kids. 

Amy knows that she's going to have to make 

sure Kendra doesn't get hurt in any way. The 

cabin they're staying at is old and worn out 

and Amy has to make the best of it.

Amy gets the idea of putting clues into the 

videos Smokey is going to send to Mrs. 

Edgerton. In Amy's book the boy uses a 

method for signaling secret clues. Amy hoped 

her best friend Jorja would be able to catch on 

with the clues, but how can she if she never 

got on to reading the book.

Amy sneaks in the first clue without getting 

Hugh or Smokey suspicious. Hugh tells her 

that Kendra has to be returned back 

unharmed, but when she asks if they're going 

to let her go he doesn't give her a straight 

answer.

Amy starts getting the next clue ready and has 

to teach it to Kendra. After filming she 

hesitates if the clues would even work. She 

then decides to make a run for it with Kendra. 

Smokey had found out that Mrs.Edgerton had 

called the cops and he was mad. Amy is on the 

run, but is slowed down by Kendra. When 

Hugh wakes up and notices the kids are gone 

his anger goes all towards Amy and wouldn't 

stop Smokey if he tried to hurt her. 

Amy does another attempt to get saved by 

forming an arrow on the floor so maybe 

airplanes flying by will see. She hears the van 

coming back to the cabin and hides her and 

Kendra by using branches and leaves. Another 

failed attempt as she finds Hugh sitting on the 

side of the road waiting for them.

Still determined she decides to sneak in 

another clue in another video. The clue will let 

the cops know that the nanny was in on the 

kidnapping.

As Mrs.Nordlund, Jorja, and Detective Rockport 

are watching the video one of them notices the 

first clue. Amy now makes the next clue that 

will lead them to the store that is close by the 

cabin they are staying at. She had to use her 

writing skills to come up with this clue.

In the night Amy tries to find the gun and hide 

it so Smokey wouldn't be able to use it on her. 

She knows he usually keeps the gun in the 

Glove compartment but it isn't there. She then 

gets the thought of driving the van if she has a 

good chance of escaping.
