The Camel Wrestling Festival is in Selcuk, on the Aegean coast of Turkey. At the beginning of each year, dating back over 2400 years ago, a female camel is paraded in front of the male participants to get the festival blooming. This is rather unique and odd tradition. Throughout the event, bets are placed on camels who will try to wrestle each other to the ground with their long necks. At each match, depending on attendance, there are usually extra activities such as a village band or food stalls.
