A player can earn an albatross by getting the ball into the hole in three less strokes than par for the hole. Par is the suggested amount of strokes to get the ball in the hole.

is for birdie.
A player can earn a birdie by getting the ball into the hole in one less stroke than par for the hole. Par is the suggested amount of strokes to get the ball in the hole.


is for caddie.

Professional golfers have caddies. They carry the player's clubs around the course for them.

is for driver.

The club that players hit off of the tee most of the time. This club has the most potential to hit the ball the farthest.

is for eagle.

A player can earn an eagle by getting the ball into the hole in two less strokes than par for the hole. Par is the suggested amount of strokes to get the ball in the hole.

is for fairway.

The best place to land your tee shot on a par four or par five hole. The grass is cut short in the fairway.

is for green.

The place where the hole is located. Players putt on the green.

is for half shot.

A half shot is when a player does not swing as hard as they can so the ball will not go as far as it usually does with that certain club.

is for irons.

The clubs a player normally hit when they reach the fairway or the rough. Irons range from 1-9. 1 irons hit the ball the farthest compared to the other irons and 9 irons hit the ball the shortest compared to the other irons.

is for jar.

Jar is another word for the hole that players hit the ball into.

is for kick.

The way the ball bounces when it lands.

is for long irons.

Long irons are the irons that hit the ball the farthest and are the hardest to hit. The long irons are 1 iron, 2 iron, 3 iron, 4 iron, 5 iron, and 6 iron.

is for Majors.

The Majors are the four biggest events on the P.G.A. Tour. They include The Masters, the U.S. Open, the British Open, and the P.G.A. Championship.

is for neck.

The part of the club where the face of the club connects to the shaft of the club.

is for out of bounds.

An area that is not part of the course and play is not allowed. If a player hits their ball out of bounds, they receive a one shot penalty.

is for putter.

The club that players use to hit the ball into the hole on the green.
