It was a hot summer day. A little black crow flew out of his nest to search for water. He was so thirsty, but he could not find water anywhere.

He flew high and low, here and there,

but still, no water.

"Where will I find some water

to drink before I die of

thirst?" thought the crow.

Suddenly, the little black crow stumbled upon a glass pitcher with just a little bit of water left.

"Oh my, Oh my! water at last!" cried the crow.

The little black crow tried to drink. He did not want to break the pitcher. His beak was too short and he was unable to get to the water.

"What can I do? How can I drink the water without breaking the pitcher and wasting all the water?" he thought.

The little black crow looked around.

"Aha!" he cried, "I have a great idea!"

The little black crow was so excited.

"I am the smartest crow in the world," he boasted.
