Tomorrow is summer, but I am not even excited at all because mom said this summer we are helping others.

I don't want to help others. I want to play with my friends and swim in our pool all summer. This is going to be the worst summer ever.

As Mom tucked me in tonight, she told me a few things we would be doing over the summer. I am not excited!

The next morning, Mom and I went over to the greenhouse and picked out flowers to plant at Eleanor's house.

Eleanor is our neighbor, but she is kind of old. Mom says Eleanor used to plant flowers all the time and loves flowers but now it is too hard for her to do it all by herself.

Mom let me put the flowers in the soil. They looked beautiful. After we got done, Eleanor invited us inside.

Inside, Eleanor had cookies for us and she told us that the flowers were so beautiful and that she loved them.

Next, Mom and I went over to my other neighbors house. His name is Lester and he is kind of old too like Eleanor is. His lawn was getting really long. Mom said we are going to mow it, since Lester can't be out in the sun working for a long time.

Mom gave me a push mower and she was on the riding one. She told me I got to mow the front yard while she did the back yard.

After we got done, we were both sweating and hot. Lester invited us in for lemonade and tea! He told us how much he appreciated our help.

Today was not so bad, I guess. It was fun helping Eleanor and Lester with things they aren't able to do anymore.

This morning, Mom told me we are cleaning the toy room and packing all my old toys I don't play with anymore.
