For as long as Timmy can remember it has just been him, his cat Guss, and his mom Sally.

Sally works at the local hospital, and a few months ago there was a bad car accident that she helped take care of. At first it didn't seem to really bother her, but now Sally doesn't feel the same.
Sally has been having nightmares, flashbacks, and memories of the event. These memories are so strong she often feels like it is happening all over again.

Timmy sees that his mom is not the same, so he makes sure to give her lots of hugs and kisses whenever he can.
Sally's sister Mary comes to visit, and Timmy asks her what is going on with his mom. Mary explains that Sally had a lot of stress with her job, and she was dealing with somethings that happened at work before. Timmy was curious and Mary told him that his mom had Post Traumatic Stress Disorder or PTSD. She explained that his mom might be a little anxious, and may even feel helpless at times, so Timmy should keep giving the hugs.

Mary talked to Sally and told her that it might be a good idea to talk to a psychiatrist.
