On a warm and sunny evening at the end of a cup de sac, Sam and Lily were playing outside their homes. They had been playing outside for quite some time now and the sun was beginning to set. 

 Together they were playing with the new electronic puppies they got. Lily’s mom had gotten her puppy a toy ball to go with it. Sam was jealous because of this and desperately wanted the ball to play with.

“Hey, give that back Sam! Its not yours!” Lily yelled. Sam had taken the ball from Lily as she went to grab it. “It’s not yours!” she continued. 

“I don’t care. I wanna to play with it” Sam pouted. She scooted further away from Lily, refusing to give her back the ball. 

Lily began to cry, she was very upset that Sam took her ball without asking and had been so mean to her about it. She got up from playing and ran to tell her mom about what happened. 

“Mommy, mommy, mommy!” she said, tugging on her mother’s shirt.

“What’s wrong?” her mother asked. 

“Sam took my puppy’s ball away from me without even asking!” she exclaimed. 

Lily’s mom walked over to the front door and opened it, calling for Sam to come over to her to talk. Sam got up and walked over to Lily’s mom with her head down. 

Sam made it over to the door slowly and once she got there Lily’s mother asked her, 

“Sam, why did you take Lily’s ball without asking?” 

“I wanna play with it” she explained.
