Welcome to Serene Village. A quiet town in the heart of the Pokemon world.

But this is a story not about the trainers... it's about the Pokemon. And not just any Pokemon...

Marshadow...this Pokemon is a fighting type and a ghost type. It's existence is the stuff of legends.

This is the story of how Marshadow saves Serene Village from a group of Zangoose.

It was a normal day in Serene village. Everything was fine until Peliper flew down. He had come to warn the village about a group of bandits that have been seen in the area.

"Oh dear! We'll need to set up a town guard," said Lombre.

"We should ask Espurr to help with keeping in touch. Her telepathy has a wide range," said Raticate.

Raticate went to the school and explained the situation to Espurr.

"I'd be delighted to help. Just let me know who to connect."

By the next day, Espurr had linked the adults together. They took turns on who watched the town entrances. Espurr sat on the big hill underneath the tree, projecting her psychic power to all.

One day while Espurr was sitting under the tree, she noticed something moving in the shadows.

"There's no reason to hide," she said, sensing its fear.

The Pokemon that literally slipped out of the shadows was Marshadow.

"I've never seen a Pokemon like you before. What's your name," she asked.

"Marshadow," he said quietly.

"Are you one of the bandits," Espurr asked.

Marshadow simply shook its head no.

"Well if you aren't one of them, can you help us fight them?"

He nodded with a smile.

Just then Espurr got a distress signal from Lombre. The bandits were at the west entrance.

When Espurr and Marshadow arrived, they saw a trio of Zangoose.

"Hehehe, just give up your goods and no one gets hurt," said the leader.

"There's no way we'll listen to a bunch of thugs," said Lombre.

Then Raticate noticed Marshadow, "Look out there's one behind you Espurr!"

"No he's come to help us," she cried out.

"Nonsense, something so evil looking can't possibly be nice," said Roselia. "The only way we'll win is if we attack first!"

She fired off a magical leaf at both Marshadow and the Zangoose.

Marshadow was knocked down while the Zangoose dodged.

"Kekeke, an attack of that level won't ever hit us with our speed," said the Zangoose. "Now feel our wrath!"

Each of the Zangoose used Quick Attack and knocked out the villagers.
