Is one of the 24 federal entities of Venezuela. It is part of the city of Caracas which is also the capital of the Republic. In the Capital District, the National Public Powers are registered. This entity has federal rank and the competence to organize said territory; Has a particular political organization.

The former Federal District of Venezuela was the forerunner of what we now know as the Capital District (according to Article 4 of the Special Law on the Organization and Regime of the Capital District). Because it was only a change of name of this jurisdiction, its limits remain unchanged. This entity is made up of the Municipality Libertador de Caracas, which is composed of 22 parishes. Note the following:

Article 4 Limits: The limits of the Capital District are those that corresponded to the extinct Federal District to the date of entry into force of the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and that includes the territory of the present Bolivarian Liberating Municipality.

CARACAS:

Is the capital city of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, and the main administrative, financial, political, commercial and cultural center of the Venezuelan nation.

The city of Caracas, being the constitutional capital of Venezuela, concentrates a great number of economic activities, concentrates in its central historical center the basic functions of the Executive, Legislative and Judicial powers of the Nation
