Davy excuses himself from dinner because he has a tummy ache and feels uncomfortable.

Davy lies in bed contemplating what is going on with his Digestive System

Hmmmmmm...

After creating a bolus in his mouth, peristalsis keeps it flowing in one direction to the stomach through a sphincter.

In Davy's stomach protease pepsin breaks down the proteins, and further chemical digestion occurs.

Then Davy's small intestine, as well as the liver and pancreas, produces digestive juices and enzymes that separate out the nutrients in food. Among those enzymes are lipase and amylase from the pancreas.

The digested food continues its journey into the large intestine. The nutrients (fats, carbohydrates and proteins) have been broken down and are ready to be absorbed through the intestinal walls into your bloodstream for transport throughout your body.

Bile is injected by the Gall Bladder after being created in the liver, giving the waste its brown color.

After all of this commotion in Davy's digestive system he feels a bowel movement coming on.

Davy's waste finally exits through the anal sphincter.

Davy is now relieved an can now relax with his family.
