On a dark and stormy night, Victor 

Frankenstein, after having toiled arduously for 

several months, finally brought to life a being of 

his own creation. 

As the creature awoke, suddenly Victor 

realized he had been wrong to meddle with 

the laws of nature. Horrified, he fled from the 

hideous monster and hid himself overnight.

The monster wandered off into the wilderness 

on his own, while Victor fell ill from stress, 

becoming bedridden for many months. 

Nearly two years later, Victor received a letter 

from his family, informing him that his 

younger brother William had been murdered. 

He immediately set off to return to his 

homeland.
