Kii Yazhi is sad to leave his land but ready to start his education.

Kii Yazhi’s arrives at his destination; boarding school. 

Kii Yazhi learns to be like the rest of the Americans & becomes Ned Begay. 

However, they try to strip his culture from him. They change his hair and his clothes and only let him speak English.

One day, the school finds out that the Japanese bombed pearl harbor. 

This means the war has started and the marines start recruiting people.

Ned asks his parents if they can lie about his age so that he can join but they say he has to wait one more year.

Ned joins the marines a year later.
